In an Instagram video, spiritual speaker Patriji suggests a unique method for creating a garden. He recommends soaking the seeds in saliva for 10 minutes before planting them in the soil. Then, he advises watering these seeds after three days. He claims that growing seeds using this method will transfer DNA information to the earth through the saliva.

Is it true that human saliva transfer DNA to seeds when soaked?
No. Exposing seeds to human saliva will not infuse them with DNA. Also, the idea of a personalized garden through DNA transfer from saliva is scientifically unfounded. Plants inherit their genetic material from their parent plants, not humans. While soaking seeds in water before planting can be beneficial for some varieties to soften their coats and aid germination, saliva is not necessary and might introduce harmful bacteria.
This claim is a misunderstanding of how plant genetics and DNA transfer work. Here is why:
- DNA molecules are large and fragile: Human saliva does not contain the genetic material in a form directly usable by plants. DNA molecules are very large and complex, and human saliva exposes them to enzymes and other substances that can degrade them, making them unusable for any kind of genetic transfer.
