Health literacy means empowerment. The more people are aware of about their health, and the recent updates around health industry, it will help in improving quality of life.

When a patient possesses rudimentary knowledge about their health condition, it greatly impacts several aspects, spanning from acceptance to compliance while seeking medical care or even large-scale treatments.

How much can medical misinformation impact treatment procedures?

Medical misinformation affects treatment procedures by leading to misconceptions about what to expect from doctors and the intended course of treatment. Misinformation eventually leads to unrealistic expectations.

What are the most common myths or misinformation you see your patients falling prey to?

The are a lot of common myths and misinformation surrounding child diet, health, and home remedies for general illnesses. These kinds of misinformation can often lead to serious damage.

What is your most common advice to patients to stay away from health misinformation online?

I always advise people to abhor any kind of information (content) available on social media, sites etc. They aren’t from qualified professionals, so the validity of such content is always questionable.
