The Claim
A Facebook post claims that the Covid-19 vaccines are toxic. The post includes a video featuring an Australian news report about an individual pursuing compensation for medical issues allegedly linked to the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. Moreover, the Facebook post’s caption declares, ‘All the Covid jabs are poison ☠, and this is a common reaction to the poisoning’.

Are COVID-19 vaccines poisonous?
Not exactly. The COVID-19 vaccines authorized for use by health authorities such as the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organisation, Indian Government website, and other relevant organizations are not poisonous. These vaccines have undergone rigorous testing and have been shown to be safe and effective at preventing COVID-19. They have been administered to millions of people in India and worldwide, with a strong safety record. It is important to rely on reputable sources and consult with healthcare professionals for accurate information about COVID-19 vaccines and their safety. False claims suggesting that COVID-19 vaccines are poisonous are not based on scientific evidence and can be harmful.
In context with the claimed video, COVID-19 vaccines can often cause mild side effects, like a sore arm or feeling a bit like having the flu for a short time. Serious reactions can happen, but it is rare. However, it is not right to say that serious medical problems happen commonly because of them.

Editorial Note of correction: Covid vaccine can cause mild side effects and the same has been listed on all Govt. health websites. The word “often” has been removed from the context due to lack of proper research evidence. The same has been pointed out by one of our reader.
