What does the study refer to in the article within the claimed social media post say?
We went through the study referred to in the article within the claimed social media post and found it was done by Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN). ICAN did not conduct a peer-review study. The network collected the data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevent (CDC). The data was displayed through v-safe smartphone program.
Are over 700,000 vaccinated people forced to seek medical care for severe side effects?
Not enough evidence. It is difficult to reach this conclusion using the data referred to in the article within the claimed social media post.
ICAN based its analysis on the data extracted from the v-safe smartphone program. V-safe is similar to the vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS), where anyone can enroll to share their experience. The CDC website informs that these databases do not show data verified by professionals. It only helps CDC monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines in near real-time.
No other study by a reputable scientific journal or medical institution established same causation between covid vaccines and adverse events collected by v-safe smartphone programs. THIP MEDIA has previously discussed role of these databases in another fact check done on Pfizer safety document concerning its COVID-19 vaccine does not confirm suspected side effects to the shot.
A document by CDC shows side effects and adverse events in v-safe data might not be generalized to all vaccine recipients on page 12. The v-safe data does not separate individuals who enrolled early and late in the program on page 14.
Even the Department of Health and Human Services has raised the probability of v-safe documenting more minor incidents immediately after vaccination. These incidents can by coincidental or related to other causes.
