It is difficult to say which cancer is the most painful because most cancers remain unnoticed in the initial stages and become painful during the later stages. However, most cancers hurt because they induce the immune system to kill the healthy cells. Cells are the basic unit of human life and collect to form tissue then organs. It means cancer destroys the basic unit of life to attack the organ system. Hence, the most painful cancers can be of organs or cancer starting from one point and spreading to bones.
When cancer spreads within the body, it may press the nerves or veins to induce pain. In general, cancer cells release some chemicals in the affected area to generate a painful response by the nervous system. These chemicals work differently for different types of cancers. A woman with breast cancer may feel pain in her breast while walking. Whereas a patient with oral cancer may feel pain while eating food.
As cancer cells multiply to spread throughout the body, these chemicals induce a larger response by the nervous system to make cancer more painful than before. Due to this reason, cancer at the last stage is often more painful than the initial stages.
