Does Alzheimer’s disease kill its victims?

Alzheimer’s disease does kill its victim by destroying the sense of judgement completely. It is possible that a person with the condition might have developed Alzheimer’s disease because of other disorders like mild cognitive impairment or Parkinson’s disease. In such cases, the person may die of mild cognitive impairment or Parkinson’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease affects the thinking, reasoning and memory among people. The condition shrinks the brain cells to destroy them completely. This disrupts the nerve connection making people with conditions prone to accidents that can be deadly.

Alzheimer’s disease destroys the ability to communicate. Left with muddled speech, unintelligible activity and no memory, the mind becomes nonexistent. Alzheimer’s disease virtually kills people.

Although Alzheimer’s disease slowly kills people, it can make their life difficult. As this condition degrades the quality of life, it puts a lot of pressure even on the family members making Alzheimer’s disease one of the toughest neurological disorders to deal with.

Research has shown that Alzheimer’s disease was the 7th leading cause of global deaths in 2019. It is not clear whether Alzheimer’s disease was the only reason behind the deaths. Further research is required to collate global data on the number of deaths due to Alzheimer’s disease.
