The Claim

A post by an X user states that the 194 WHO member nations are going to hand over their sovereignty to the WHO through a voting process behind closed doors, in May 2024. Moreover, the X user also mentions that it will lead to the One World Government as described in Revelation 13. The post has a video attached to support its claim.

Fact Check

What does the WHO do?

The WHO, or World Health Organization, is like the global leader of healthcare. It’s a specialised agency of the United Nations dedicated to promoting and coordinating international public health efforts. Their mission covers a wide range of areas, including disease prevention, health promotion, and strengthening healthcare systems worldwide. From responding to disease outbreaks and emergencies to advocating for access to essential medicines and healthcare services, the WHO plays an important role in safeguarding the health of people everywhere. Think of them as the superheroes of global health, tirelessly working to ensure a healthier and safer world for everyone.

What is One World Government?

One World Government is an idea where all countries unite under a single authority to govern the entire world. Arguments for it include the idea that it could promote global peace, cooperation, and equality among nations. Proponents believe it could solve global issues more effectively by eliminating conflicts and scarcity of resources between nations.

Arguments against it often focus on concerns about loss of national identity, autonomy, and sovereignty. Critics worry that a single government could become too powerful and abuse its authority, leading to tyranny or oppression. There are also practical challenges, such as differences in culture, traditions, language, and governance styles. As for whether it will become a reality, it’s hard to say. While some advocate for closer global cooperation, significant obstacles remain, and many countries prioritise their own sovereignty.
Regarding the WHO, it does not have plans to overtake the sovereignty of its member nations. The WHO’s role is to provide guidance and support for global health issues, but it respects the sovereignty of each member nation to make its own decisions regarding healthcare policies and practices.

What is Revelation 13 of the Bible, mentioned in the post?

The post cites a reference to Revelation 13 from the Bible. It warns about the rise of oppressive political and religious powers that seek to control and manipulate people. It serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked authority and the importance of remaining vigilant and true to one’s beliefs.

Is it true that the member nations are required to handover their sovereignty to the WHO?

No, there is no such evidence which indicates that the member nations are going to hand over their sovereignty to the WHO. After a thorough research about the latest news on the official WHO website and other reliable sources, we found no such information. While the WHO is the leading global agency looking after the health of all people around the globe, it does not plan on taking over the sovereignty of its member nations. The WHO formulates guidelines for disease control and prevention, health education and awareness, healthcare equity and promotes well-being.

During our research we found the original video which is the source of the above-mentioned misinformation. After carefully watching both the videos, we can conclude that the claim video is false and manipulated. Also, we would like to reiterate that whatever is being said in the claim video goes absolutely against the core values of WHO.

What is the reason for widespread misconception regarding Pandemic Prevention?

One potential factor which can be the source of such misinformation can be the pandemic accord. There’s been a lot of talk lately about a pandemic agreement proposed by the WHO. Some people have spread false information about it, like saying it would threaten countries’ sovereignty or that the WHO would send troops to enforce it. But those claims are not true. The agreement is actually designed to respect countries’ rights and sovereignty, following the rules of international law. It’s up to each nation whether they want to agree to it or not, and the WHO can’t force anyone to do anything. The WHO’s role is to offer advice and guidance on health matters, not to make laws or enforce them. They have never pushed for vaccine mandates, and their power is limited to international health issues, not national ones. So, while there’s been a lot of confusion, it’s important to separate fact from fiction when it comes to the WHO’s pandemic agreement.
