Additionally, the post mentions the herb’s ability to regulate blood sugar levels, particularly beneficial for individuals diagnosed with diabetes.

Does the herb Brahmi hold antihyperglycemic properties?
It is possible. There is some preliminary scientific research suggesting that the herb Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) may possess antihyperglycemic properties. However, we need further studies to establish its effectiveness and safety for diabetes management.
A few animal and in vitro studies have indicated that Brahmi extracts may have potential antihyperglycemic effects by enhancing insulin secretion, improving glucose utilization, and reducing insulin resistance. These studies show promising results. But it is important to note that animal and in vitro research cannot directly translate to human outcomes.

Can Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) control diabetes?
Not necessarily. At present, there is insufficient scientific evidence to support the use of Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri) as a standalone treatment for controlling diabetes. While some studies have shown the potential antihyperglycemic effects of Brahmi in animal and in vitro models. We need more research to establish its efficacy, safety, and appropriate dosage for human use.

Altering lifestyle factors and some supporting medicines can cure early-stage diabetes. But advanced diabetes known as Pittaprameha is manageable with lifelong medications, but not curable. In very advanced stages, Vataprameha, diabetes is totally unmanageable according to Ayurveda. So far, there is no magical herb or formulation that is known to have been discovered”.

So, it can occur due to sedentary lifestyle, imbalanced diet, etc. However, these days other factors such as stress also play a role in inducing diabetes. Brahmi is an ayurvedic herb which can treat various mental disorders, such as anxiety, etc. This herb relaxes the nervous system and the organs, such as pancreas in stress. So, brahmi might aid in treating stress- related diabetes. However, one must always consider a multifaced treatment for diabetes.”
