After the sudden demise of Indian actor Siddharth Shukla due to heart attack, a video has gone viral on social media showing a middle aged person fall down in a stair case. A number of social media users and few news media has claimed that the person in the video is the late actor. We fact-checked and found that the claim is false.
The Claim
“Actor #SiddharthShukla dies of heart attack,” wrote an user while sharing the video on Twitter. Such posts can be seen here, here and here. A screenshot is given below.

Who is actor Siddharth Shukla?
Siddharth Shukla was an Indian actor known for winning the popular reality shows like Bigg Boss and Fear Factor. In addition Shukla also worked in a number of popular television serials like Balika Vadhu, hosted shows like Savdhaan India and India’s Got Talent and acted in movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
Is the person in the video Siddharth Shukla?
No. The video clearly has a date stamp of which proves that it was from an incident eight days before Shukla’s death.
Further still, we found that the same video was published by multiple local media platforms in Karnataka. The media reports mentioned that the incident was from Gold’s Gym of Banashankari area in Bangalore. We reached out to the Centre Manager of Gold’s Gym who confirmed that the incident indeed happened on August 25, 2021 at their centre. The person in the video, he confirmed, was a new member who came in for trial class.
Hence, the video is unrelated to the death of actor Siddharth Shukla.
