Are eye floaters an indication of eye Cancer?
Floaters are lines, dots or lights that appear to float in the line of vision when one moves their eyeball. These can be caused due to many reasons including eye cancer. Therefore, they are not a specific sign and cannot be considered indicative of eye cancer. The diagnosis of eye cancer requires a comprehensive process of clinical exams and testing.

Yes. Floaters are a suspected sign of eye cancer. However, floaters can also be a sign of ageing or an infection within the eye. So, having floaters and even other suspected signs of eye cancer do not confirm the condition.

Floaters are specks or lines that seem to drift in the field of vision. A website suggests that most floaters are not a sign of eye cancer. Due to this, eye cancer cannot be confirmed only on the basis of visible signs. The diagnosis of eye cancer is done through an eye exam, biopsy, blood test or imaging tests like ultrasound, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography, chest x-ray, computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
