How can obesity be prevented?

Majority of the times, obesity can be prevented easily by altering lifestyle and food habits. A healthy diet, a regular exercise regime helps keeping check on weight. Low fat or low carbohydrate diets are often suggested for people with little or no physical activity throughout the day. Staying away from alcohol also helps in keeping the weight under control.

If you are already struggling with a high BMI, a 30 minutes of high intensity physical exercise like cardio, swimming, cycling, yoga etc. can help get rid of the extra fat from the body.

However, in few cases, obesity can be a resultant of some other diseases. Medical intervention like a bariatric surgery or a hormonal treatment can be required in such cases. Only a certified medical practicioner can suggest the right course of action after proper medical investigation on the causes of obesity.
