Myth: Sunlight can prevent Covid-19

Rating: Mostly False

The World Health Organization (WHO) has maintained that, “exposing yourself to the sun or to temperatures higher than 25 degrees centigrade DOES NOT prevent the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).” Apparently, COVID-19 has spread to countries like India that has sunny weather and higher temperatures (over 40 degrees centigrade in summer)

That said, some studies have suggested that temperature may influence transmission of the COVID-19 virus (how the virus spreads from one person to another), but the evidence overall is inconclusive.
