When they approach a doctor for help, they may be irritable, morose or even frustrated due to previous failed treatments. It is the doctor who should behave in an ideal way and listen to them patiently and with a sympathetic attitude.

It is important for patients to be truthful with their doctor during their consultations and not withhold any information. Patients who tend to hide information pertinent to their health condition and not follow the recommendations of their doctor can be difficult to treat.

It is helpful when patients have some knowledge about their treatment procedure and its different aspects. Prior knowledge will help them to set their expectations from the treatment procedure accordingly.

How does medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
Medical misinformation can be very harmful, dangerous and life threatening in rare cases. For example, there is a myth floating through some videos on the internet that women can check when ovulation occurs by inserting their finger into the vagina and touching their cervix. This can cause great mental anxiety for them and also result in infections. Such things are harmful for people’s health.
