What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?

I enjoy interacting with the patients and counselling and educating them about how to take care of their health and help them do the same.

When is a patient easy to treat?

Understanding and motivated patients who want to have better quality of life by taking care of their own health by following the disease management plan given by their doctors are easy to treat in my opinion.

When is a patient difficult to treat?

The patients who do not adhere to the treatment plans and procedures set by their doctors can be very difficult.

How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?

If patients are aware about basics of the treatment, then it will be easy to explain them treatment or management plans of their condition.

How can a patient improve his knowledge about the treatment procedure?

Patients can gather information about their condition by reading about it from authentic websites and medical journals. However, they should always consult their doctors, so that they can guide them properly.

How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?

Medical Misinformation is a big problem and is very dangerous. There are lots of medical misinformation about diabetes, obesity, blood pressure and cholesterol issues. People tend to believe them and skip or stop their medication without consulting their doctors, which becomes dangerous.

A few advice that you always give to your patients…

I always advice my patients to adhere to lifestyle management plan as advised by their doctors. You should depend only on authentic websites and research material and your doctors for any kind of health input. And lastly, consult your doctor regularly.
