What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?
I like it when my patients are discharged after treatment without any complications.
When is a patient easy to treat?
When patients and their caretakers understand the disease and its prognosis, a space is created for an collaborative effort between the patients, caretakers and the doctors. This makes treatment easy and effective.
When is a patient difficult to treat?
Poor understanding of the patient and/or their caretakers about the disease and delayed treatment can make it difficult for us to treat the patient.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
If patients have some knowledge about their condition, treatment procedure, etc. it will be helpful as their doctors will be able to explain about the complications related to it.
How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?
Patients can read about various treatment procedures from reliable sources of information. However, they should rely on their doctors and healthcare professionals more than what they read, hear or watch somewhere else.
How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
Medical misinformation is a serious problem. You should not believe on non-medical advice.
A few advice that you always give to your patients…
You should eat healthy, develop healthy habits and if you fall ill, consult a doctor immediately instead of trying to treat yourself on your own. Always complete your treatment course to avoid unnecessary complications and relapses.
