What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?
I like every opportunity to treat cancer that I get.
When is a patient easy to treat?
Patients who are aware of their condition and follow the instructions of their healthcare experts properly are easy to treat.
When is a patient difficult to treat?
It becomes difficult when patients are not listening to their doctors. In cancer patients, many of them slip into depression due to the fear and hopelessness associated with the cancer in general. This can also hinder the treatment process.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
It is very helpful as it makes the patients better aware of the prognosis as well as the expected side effects.
How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?
People can read from authentic websites & other reliable sources of information.
How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
Medical misinformation is a huge problem. Regarding cancer, we have seen cases in which fear of getting a biopsy, spread of misinformation about cancer treatments has hindered the treatment processes severely.
A few advice that you always give to your patients…
Some of my advices would be consumption of healthy diet, paying attention to symptoms. You should take scheduled medications as per the doctor’s prescription and read or watch information from authentic health information sources.
