What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?

It gives me a satisfaction that I am able to improve someone’s life.

When is a patient easy to treat?

When patient trusts you completely, it becomes easy to treat them.

When is a patient difficult to treat?

When patients start relying on the unreliable information they found on the internet, it gets difficult to treat them.

How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?

It is definitely helpful. For instance, when patients understand that in their case, the procedure will improve their condition and not completely cure it or change it and maintenance sessions are required to maintain the results, our job to treat them gets easier.

How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?

Patients can improve their knowledge by gathering information from reliable sources on the internet such as research papers, authentic health websites, blogs by the doctors, etc.

How does medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?

Medical misinformation is slowly turning into a big problem, especially in the field of dermatology. A lot of social media influencers on various social media platforms claim to know about skin and hair and other aspects of dermatology better than the dermatologists themselves. Since these influencers have better reach to common people, people start believing whatever they tell them. This leads to serious health concerns in a lot of cases.

A few advice that you always give to your patients…

I always advice my patients that a balance of mental, diet and skin/hair care can give better and faster results.
