What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?
I appreciate the satisfaction I feel when I see my patients happy and relieved of their symptoms.
When is a patient easy to treat?
A patient is easy to treat when they are receptive and have enough trust in their doctor.
When is a patient difficult to treat?
When patients start search for every medical information they need on the internet and believe them instead of listening to their doctors, it becomes difficult.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
It is very helpful as then the doctors are able to easily explain the pros and cons and other factors related to the patient’s treatment.
How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?
Patients participating in counseling and discussing about their doubts directly to their doctors will help them a lot.
How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
It is a serious problem as this increases the skepticism in the patients about their treatment. Almost everyone feels uneasy or afraid to visit a doctor or a hospital to get treatment. Misinformation paves the way to increase this unease and fear, which becomes detrimental to the health of people.
A few advice that you always give to your patients
My suggestions to the patients would be that they lead a healthy lifestyle, listen to their doctors, and follow their advice. You also have to keep in mind that hearsay won’t work in medicine, and it will not help your health concerns. All humans are different and same things don’t apply to everyone.
