Sarvendriyanam Nayanam Pradhanam. This verse by a renowned Indian scholar Chanakya emphasises the importance of ‘eye’ as a sensory faculty. The Chakshushopanishad  states a Mantrajapa (salutations) to Surya Devata (Sun) who is said to be the governor of the vision.
