What should I eat if I have gestational diabetes?

Between intense aversions and weird food cravings, following a healthy diet plan during pregnancy can be challenging—especially if you have gestational diabetes.

If you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes your doctor should refer you to a dietician who can work out a special diet for you. You should include moderate amount of lean proteins as well as healthy fats in your diet.

Plenty of whole fruits and vegetables are also good for your health. You can also include moderate amount of whole grains in your diet
such as bread, cereals and rice.

You should not skip meals and snacks. Eat three small to moderate-sized meals each day.

These diet recommendations are for pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes who do NOT take insulin. You should always consult your doctor for the diet plan.
