Lung cancer is the leading cause of death in the world. It does not show symptoms in the early stage and makes people with the condition remain undiagnosed till the last stage. However, lung cancer has some noticeable signs which occur in the early stages. That being the case, lung cancer is curable if diagnosed early.
Research has shown that the early signs of lung cancer are excessive coughing, breathlessness, body pain, raspy voice and weight loss. These symptoms must concern you for lung cancer only if they persist for a longer duration. Although all the signs are crucial, it is excessive coughing that must make you visit a doctor.
If you are suffering from excessive coughing that remains and does not go away even after the medication, it is recommended to visit a doctor. The doctor will analyse your condition to check if your cough is getting worse with a raspy voice and mucus or blood.
Besides this, excessive coughing can constrict the airway by tightening the muscles and filling the airway with mucus. It causes severe breathlessness with a wheezing sound. As these symptoms are of asthma as well, your doctor will run tests to confirm whether you have lung cancer or not.
