Is obesity curable?

Published on:

Obesity is a curable disease.  Obesity can be cured by adopting effective weight loss strategies that include lifestyle modification, dietary therapy, and physical activity.

A low fat or low carbohydrate diet is often suggested for losing weight in obesity. A nutrionist can often help designing a proper diet plan according to your weight and lifestyle. A proper exercise regime is often suggested to be coupled with dietary plan to lose weight effectively.

In many cases a behavioural therapy helps patients suffering from obesity. This helps in modifying harmful behaviour associated with psychological distress.

Obesity can also be a resultant of certain other medical conditions like hormonal imbalance. In such cases proper medical intervention is required to cure obesity. After proper investigation, a doctor may suggest a hormonal treatment or a surgery to cure obesity.
