How often should diabetics go to the dentist?

Published on:

If you have diabetes, it is important for you to see your dentist regularly. This is because you are at a greater risk of oral health problems due to diabetes. Make sure you visit your dentist at least once in every six months or more often if you have a gum disease.

You need to talk to your dentist about your oral health as each diabetic is different. For good oral health, it is also important to have proper home care. You should brush your teeth twice a day and floss once every day.

It you clean your teeth properly; it removes and disrupts the plaque that constantly forms on the teeth irrespective of your eating habits. With proper care and regular visits to the dentist, you can prevent most dental problems that occur with diabetes.
