To a certain extent. Lungs repair themselves. They are regenerative in nature and begin to heal on their own the moment people quit smoking. But there is no way to reverse scarring or permanent lung damage.

Still, there are certain things people can do to generally improve their health. These measures include undergoing regular physical exercise, avoiding pollution, eating a healthy and anti-inflammatory diet, and visiting the doctor for regular health checkups and updated medication in case it is needed.
