Can I detox my liver through diet?

No. There is a lack of scientific evidence at present that shows that detox programs or supplements can fix liver damage if already happened. A liver detox is a process that claims to take out toxins in your body, help you lose weight, or improve your health.

For detox, one might have to fast or drink only juices or other liquids for several days. There can even be a restricted diet or consumption of herbal or dietary supplements. In fact, certain herbal or dietary supplements can even harm your liver. The only reason a person feels better on a detox diet is that one stops eating highly processed foods with solid fats and refined sugar. Eat healthy and the liver will be capable of removing the toxins on its own.
