Myth: If I had Covid-19 before, I don’t need the vaccine

Rating: Mostly False
Facts:

There is still no data on how long the antibodies stay in the body and provide immunity after a natural infection of Covid-19. The CDC website says, “you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19.” The World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines recommend the same.

The WHO says, “After getting COVID, people do get an immune response, but this varies from person to person and it depends on whether you had a mild infection or whether you had more severe infection.”

WHO recommends that, “you can take the vaccine actually, once you’ve recovered from COVID” but “waiting for a few weeks is recommended.”
