Myth: Children are less like to contract COVID-19 than adults

Rating: Half True

A systematic review of 24 studies done regarding this matter concluded, children are just as likely to contract COVID-19 as adults. However, the study notes that children may get milder symptoms compared to adults, one of the probable reason why their cases are less reported.

Another review done on 7 studies suggest that children often contract the virus from adults and are less likely to be the major source of household transmission. One of those 7 studies further suggested that children in school environment are less likely to contract the disease from other children. However, more studies are needed on this topic.
