When a patient explains to you about their health problems, what are the most common mistakes they make in their communication?

A lot of patients are not sure about their health condition and symptoms and are unable to express their concerns properly. Such things can hinder the treatment process.

What does health literacy mean to you, and why is it important in patient care?

Health literacy is important to create awareness. It helps people to come out and share their concerns about health in a more informed way.

If a patient is knowledgeable about the basics of their health condition, how helpful is it for the overall treatment procedure?

When a patient possesses a fundamental understanding of their health condition, explaining the treatment to them becomes more straightforward.

How much can medical misinformation impact treatment procedures?

Medical misinformation can significantly disrupt the treatment procedure.

What are the most common myths or misinformation you see patients falling prey to?

A prevalent misconception is that individuals view insulin as the final resort in diabetes management when it should actually be prioritized as the initial approach.

What is your common advice to patients to stay away from health misinformation online?

It’s advisable for patients to avoid online health misinformation and instead consult a doctor for accurate guidance. Patients should refer to authentic websites and videos and articles by experienced and well-qualified doctors.
