Many patients read about their condition on the internet from unreliable sources and start arguing with their doctors on that basis. Such patients are very difficult to treat.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
It is very helpful if the patients know about the disease and its treatment procedure as it gets easier to treat them.
How can a patient improve his knowledge about the treatment procedure?
Patients can refer authentic websites and medical journals on the internet to get information about their treatment procedures.
How medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
Medical misinformation is a serious problem as when patients start believing on unreliable information, they tend to self diagnose, self treat and take their doctors’ words lightly. This makes the treatment procedure and complicated and can lead to harmful consequences for the patients.
A few advice that you always give to your patients
I always advice my patients to follow a healthy routine that includes exercises and stress and lifestyle management, and to follow the treatment prescribed by the doctors properly.
