What is the best thing you enjoy about treating patients?
The best part of treating patients for me is to see the smile on the faces of my patients and their parents when they get better.
When is a patient easy to treat?
It is easy to treat patients when they rely on my advice and follow them properly.
When is a patient difficult to treat?
When patients are keener to trust the things that they read on the internet than me and neglect their doctor’s medical advice, it gets very difficult to treat them.
How helpful is it to the treatment course, if the patient is knowledgeable about the treatment procedure, benefits, risks etc.?
Patients to be aware and informed about their condition and the factors related to them is important as well as helpful. However, awareness should come more from talking with a doctor than just searching on the internet.
How can a patient improve their knowledge about the treatment procedure?
Patient leaflets are provided in hospitals. Similarly, patients can also refer to other reliable sources for medical information.
How does medical misinformation act as a problem in the overall treatment procedure?
Medical misinformation can be dangerous. Trusting random information on the internet without discussing about them with your healthcare expert can be harmful for you.
A few advice that you always give to your patients…
I always advice my patients to depend on registered medical practitioners for health-related advice, instead of blindly trusting things that they read on the internet.
