हर साल मई महीने में मदर्स डे मनाया जाता है। हालांकि मांओं के त्याग और समर्पण को केवल एक दिन नहीं याद किया जा सकता क्योंकि एक मां बच्चे के जन्म के दौरान एक ऐसी अवस्था में होती है, जो किसी भी महिला के लिए चुनौतीपुर्ण होती है। आइये जानते हैं प्रसव से जुड़े इस अवसाद के बारे में ...

प्रसव एक कठिन और थका देने वाली प्रक्रिया है क्योंकि एक महिला गर्भावस्था के दौरान अनेक हार्मोनल, शारीरिक, भावनात्मक, पारिवारिक और मनोवैज्ञानिक परिवर्तनों से गुजरती है। वहीं प्रसव के बाद भी कई तरह के भावनात्मक बदलावों एवं शारीरिक परिवर्तनों से गुजरते हुए वे खुशी, दुख एवं अवसाद का अनुभव भी करती हैं। यह ठीक उसी प्रकार है, जब हम किसी नए रिश्ते को लेकर चिंतित होते हैं, तो कई तरह के ख्याल हमारे मन में आते हैं, जो सकारात्मक या नकारात्मक भी हो सकते हैं। उसी प्रकार जब एक महिला मां बनती है, तब उसके अंदर भी कई तरह की बातें चलती रहती हैं जैसे – नई जिम्मेदारियों के बोझ के साथ कई सवाल, मैं कैसे करुंगी, मुझसे हो पाएगा या नहीं, मैं खुद पर ध्यान दे पाऊंगी या नहीं, लोग मुझे समझेंगे या नहीं, अब तो लोग बच्चे पर ज्यादा केंद्रित रहेंगे, इत्यादि। 

अधिक सताती है अच्छी मां बनने की चिंता 

संतान होने के बाद होने वाले अवसाद को पोस्ट पार्टम डिप्रेशन (PPD) या ‘Baby Blues’ के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। कुछ मांओं में यह दशा काफी गंभीर रुप ले लेती है। अधिकतर महिलाएं इस विषय पर बात नहीं कर पाती हैं क्योंकि उन्हें लगता है कि परिवारजन उसकी अवस्था नहीं समझ पायेंगें। इसके अलावा कई महिलाओं को इस स्थिति के बारे में पता ही नहीं होता कि उन्हें पोस्ट पार्टम अवसाद है बल्कि वे इसे सामान्य स्थिति समझ लेती हैं।

अध्ययन बताते हैं कि सात में से एक महिला में Baby Blues की स्थिति देखी जाती है। यह बच्चे के जन्म के 6 हफ्ते बाद होता है लेकिन कई महिलाओं में इसके लक्षण प्रसव के कुछ महीने पहले ही दिखाई देने लगते हैं। इसके अलावा जो महिलाएं किशोरावस्था या युवावस्था में मां बनती हैं या जिन्हें समय पूर्व प्रसव होता है (प्री-मैच्योर) उन महिलाओं में भी Baby Blues के लक्षण ज्यादा देखे जाते हैं। इसके अलावा बढ़ता शहरीकरण, एकल परिवार भी PPD का सबसे बड़ा कारण है।  

पोस्ट पार्टम डिप्रेशन के लक्षण क्या हैं?

  • बिना वजह रोना आना या कभी-कभी अचानक आंसू निकलने लगते हैं
  • भूख ना लगना 
  • काम करने की इच्छा समाप्त हो जाना 
  • चिड़चिड़ापन 
  • उदासी 
  • छोटी-छोटी बातों पर क्रोध आना 
  • नींद ना आना 
  • थकावट महसूस होना 
  • अपराधबोध महसूस करना 
  • अपने आप को निरर्थक मान लेना 

मुजफ्फरपुर बिहार की रहने वाली 42 वर्षीय इप्शा पाठक बताती हैं, “मुझे प्रसव के पहले ही अवसाद महसूस होने लगा था। जैसे – मैं अपने होने वाले बच्चे का कैसे ध्यान रखूंगी, मैं बहुत ज्यादा सोचने लगी थी और मेरी स्थिति इतनी ज्यादा गंभीर हो गई कि मुझे चिकित्सक से मिलना पड़ा। मैंने दवाइयां भी खाई लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि इस स्थिति में दवाओं से ज्यादा अपनों के साथ की जरुरत होती है कि वे भी एक मां की चुनौतियों को समझें क्योंकि पहला बच्चा होने के बाद एक मां के लिए कई चीजें नई हो जाती हैं जैसे – खुद सेे पहले बच्चे के बारे में सोचना। हालांकि गर्भावस्था के दौरान भी ये सारी चीजें हुई लेकिन प्रसव के कुछ महीने पहले और बाद में मैं ज्यादा सोचने और घबराने लगी। धीरे-धीरे जब मेरी बेटी थोड़ी बड़ी होते गई और मेरी मां ने बच्ची को संभालने में मेरी मदद की, तब मेरी स्थिति थोड़ी सामान्य हुई।” इप्शा वर्तमान में लोककला से संबंधित अपना कारोबार चला रही हैं।

हाजीपुर बिहार की रहने वाली 25 वर्षीय संघमित्रा बताती हैं, “गर्भावस्था के दौरान थोड़ी चिंता होती थी लेकिन प्रसव के आखिरी महीने आते-आते चिंता और घबराहट दोनों बढ़ गई। जब मेरा प्रसव हो गया, उसके कुछ समय बाद घर में काफी लोग थे, जिस वजह से सब बच्ची के आसपास रहते थे, तो मैं थोड़ा सहज महसूस करती थी लेकिन जब अधिकांश लोग चले गए और केवल मैं और मेरी बेटी घर में रहते थे, तब पता नहीं क्यों बिना किसी बात मेरी आंखों से आंसु निकलने लगते थे। मुझे ऐसा लगता था कि मैं इसे कैसे संभालूंगी, कोई मेरी मदद क्यों नहीं कर रहा, इत्यादि। इसके अलावा जब भी कोई मिलने आता, तो वो पहले बच्चे के बारे में पूछता था। मुझे ऐसा लगने लगा कि मेरा मेरी बेटी के आने के बाद कोई महत्व ही नहीं रहा। मुझे अकेले रहने का मन करता था और मीठा खाने की इच्छा होती थी, जिस कारण मेरा वजन भी बढ़ने लगा मगर लोग इन बातों को नहीं समझ पा रहे थे फिर धीरे-धीरे मैंने खुद को माहौल में ढ़ालने की कोशिश की और अपने आप को समझाया कि अब जिंंदगी थोड़ी बदल गई है, तब स्थिति थोड़ी सुधरी।”

खुद से करें कुछ सवाल

मनोचिकित्सक डॉ. बिंदा सिंह बताती हैं, प्रसव के बाद महिलाओं को खुद से कुछ सवाल करने चाहिए। जैसे – “क्या आप अक्सर दुखी रहती हैं और रोने की इच्छा होती है?” “क्या आपको मन में खुद को नुकसान पहुंचाने का ख्याल आता है?” अगर इन प्रश्नों का उत्तर हां में है, तो इसका मतलब है कि आप पोस्ट पार्टम डिप्रेशन के ग्रसित हैं। प्रसव के बाद महिलाओं के व्यवहार में उदासी, तनाव, चिड़चिड़ाहट और गुस्से जैसे बदलाव आते हैं क्योंकि उनकी जिम्मेदारी बढ़ जाती है और वे उस अनुसार अचानक स्वयं के अंदर बदलाव नहीं ला पाती कि अब उनकी दूनिया बदल गई है। उन्हें अपने शरीर की चिंता होती है और करियर के खत्म होने का डर सताने लगता है। हालांकि अगर उन्हें पारिवारिक सहयोग और इलाज समय पर मिल जाए, तो कुछ महीनों में स्थिति सामान्य हो जाती है लेकिन यह हर महिला के लिए भिन्न हो सकती है। 

कम उम्र में मां बनना और जिम्मेदारियों का अचानक विस्तार हो जाना भी पोस्ट पार्टम डिप्रेशन का सबसे बड़ा कारण है इसलिए जब किसी महिला को लगे कि मैं अब जिम्मेदारियों का वहन कर सकती हूं, तब ही शादी या बच्चे के बारे में सोचना चाहिए। साथ ही स्वयं को मानसिक रुप से इस बात का एहसास कराएं कि आपके अंदर और आसपास कुछ बदलाव होंगे, जो सकारात्मक परिणाम लेकर आएंगे इसलिए चिंता करने से बेहतर है कि महिलाएं अपने आपको मानिसक रुप से स्वस्थ्य रखने का प्रयास करें एवं परिवार के लोग भी उनका साथ दें। इसके अलावा स्थिति गंभीर होने पर मेडिकेशन थेरेपी दी जाती है और दवाइयों के साथ-साथ काउंसलिंग द्वारा इलाज किया जाता है।

आजकल मदर्स डे को लेकर हर जगह काफी महिमामंडन किया जाता है कि हम उन्हें खास महसूस कराएं जबकि इससे ज्यादा जरुरत है कि महिलाएं मातृत्व को खुशी से जी सकें, इस तरह की कोशिश की जानी चाहिए। उन पर अच्छी मां बनने का दबाव न डालें और बच्चे की देखभाल करने में मदद करें। उन्हें भावनात्मक सहयोग दें और धैर्य रखें क्योंकि मां अगर खुश रहेगी, तब ही बच्चा भी खुश रहेगा। साथ ही इस बीमारी का सबसे अच्छा इलाज है कि लोगों को इसके प्रति जागरूक किया जाए। महिलाओं और परिवारजनों को गर्भधारण के समय ही इसकी जानकारी दी जाए।
