A news article and corresponding Facebook posts claim that the CEO of Pfizer was arrested on November first week by the FBI for “his role in deceiving customers” about the COVID-19 vaccine’s effectiveness. We fact checked and found that the claim is False.
The Claim
“CEO of Pfizer arrested, charged with fraud – media blackout as #PfizerGate trends,” reads the title of a article published on the website Conservative Beaver. The article further reads, “Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla was arrested at his home in the affluent suburb of Scarsdale, New York Friday morning by the FBI and charged with multiple counts of fraud. Bourla is being held while he awaits a bail hearing.”

Fact Check
Was Pfizer CEO arrested?
No. An event of such scale will trigger a massive media coverage worldwide. There were no news anywhere about the arrest of Pfizer’s CEO.
Rather a number of news website has published confirmed reports quoting company sources that Pfizer’s CEO Dr Albert Bourla was not arrested by the FBI.
Bourla also appeared on various television channels including CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg giving interviews on 5th and 6th of November when the article about his arrest was published. He has also been active on his social media handles.
