Fact Check

How deceiving is the website?

The angle at which the picture are taken plays a crucial role in misleading customers about this product. The image used for the “before and after” comparison, labeled as Rashmika Patel, is actually of Laiba Khan. Additionally, the reviews are not from Google Reviews; they appear to be fabricated to gain customer trust. The videos featuring doctors are also questionable. Furthermore, they claim AYUSH certification but provide no actual certificates. In another instance, a girl Renuka Goenka is shown with a 2.5-inch difference in one image and a 3-inch difference on an Instagram page. These inconsistencies, along with the fact that the ingredients mentioned are not rare, clearly indicate that this product and website are deceptive.

Which ingredients are used in the product? Do they help to increase height ?

Height Veda contains the following ingredients: Ashwagandha, Punernava, Vidhara, Halo, Kali Mirch, Pipali, Harar, Bahera, Amla, Soth, Gokhru, Mishri, Pipalamool, Semalkand, Mishri and Vidharikand.

The truth is, there’s no solid proof that supplements like Height Veda can really make you taller. While some of the stuff in these supplements might be good for you in other ways, they probably won’t make you grow taller, if it is not in your genes. It’s important to be careful with these products and consult a doctor before trying them, especially if you’re still growing. Eating healthy, exercising, and getting enough sleep are important for your overall health, but they won’t change how tall you’ll end up being because that’s mostly depend on your genes. Also usually in your late teens, when your bones stop growing, it is not possible to increase height.

Dietitian Harita

Dt. Harita Adhvaryu, Senior Clinical Dietitian at Ezcure Diabetes Care in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, explains that “Genetics and parental height typically determine your height. Good nutrition during childhood and adolescence can optimise your height potential. However, once your bones have finished growing, neither treatments nor nutrition can increase your height.”

What factors affect an individual’s height growth?

An individual’s height is mainly influenced by a combination of genetic, nutritional, and environmental factors. Genetics significantly impact potential height, as it is largely inherited from one’s parents. Adequate nutrition, particularly during childhood and adolescence, is essential since a deficiency in key nutrients can hinder growth. Hormones, including growth hormone and thyroid hormones, are also crucial contributors. Moreover, environmental factors such as sufficient sleep, regular physical activity, and a healthy living environment support optimal height development during the growth years.

At what age does a person usually stop growing taller?

Individuals generally stop growing in height in their late teens to early twenties, typically between the ages of 18 and 25. This is mainly because the growth plates in the bones close during this period.

Once an individual’s growth plates in the bones have closed, typically during late adolescence or early adulthood, further height increase is not possible, regardless of diet or supplements. Nutrition supplements might  support height growth primarily during the developmental years when the body is actively growing. After the growth plates have fused, diet and nutrition can no longer contribute to increasing a person’s height.

Another post on social media claims that eating chuna (calcium hydroxide) with dahi will help increase height.

Is this product AYUSH certified?

Height Veda is not certified by the AYUSH Ministry. Numerous government documents from the AYUSH Department are available online, listing products, and Height Veda is not there.
