Quick Take

An US based doctor has claimed that he observed a “20 times increase of endometrial cancers” since Jan. 1 over what he’s seen on an annual basis referring to the fact that the COVID vaccinations are leading to the same. We fact-checked and found no evidence supporting the claim. We rate this as false.

The Claim

An US based Doctor, Ryan Cole, who owns his own diagnostic clinic claimed that he has seen “20 times increase in endometrial Cancer.” Dr. Cole further claimed that COVID vaccines are causing a decrease in T-Cells in the body. His quotes are published in a news website called LifeSite and further tweeted by social media users.

Fact Check

Who is Dr. Ryan Cole?

Dr. Ryan Cole is a medical doctor based out of Idaho, United States. He is the CEO/Medical Director of Cole Diagnostics.

Is there a increase in Cancer due to COVID vaccination?

No. There is no evidence of the same.

Dr. Cole has not given any supporting evidence with the claim. He made a general observation from his own experience without referring to any numbers. This does not reflect a general trend across the United States or across the country. Also, there could be multiple reasons to the increase in numbers.

For example, a research done by Harvard, showed that during the pandemic 1 out of 5 US citizens delayed their medical treatments. The study had predicted increase in certain diseases as a result of this.

Another study done to check the number of Cancer diagnosis and treatment, concluded, “a significant decrease in all cancer-related patient encounters as a result of the pandemic. The steep decreases in cancer screening and patients with a new incidence of cancer suggest the possibility of a future increase in patients with later-stage cancer being seen initially as well as an increased demand for cancer screening procedures as delayed tests are rescheduled.”

What are T-Cells?

T-Cells are a category of white blood cells and is an essential part of the immune system. There are two types of T Cells – helper T cells that coordinate an immune attack, and killer T cells that do the killing of foreign pathogens.

Do COVID-19 vaccines decrease T-Cells in body?

No. There is no evidence to the claim that COVID vaccines can decrease the number of T Cells in the body.

Rather, research has shown the opposite. As per a recent research finding, helper T cells count in blood increased after the first dose of COVID vaccine and killer T cell counts increased after the second dose.
