Quick Take

A U.K. based self-published newspaper claims the released Pfizer documents reveal thousands of side effects that occurred at an alarming rate, were a direct result of Covid vaccines. We fact-checked and found the claim to be False.

The Claim

A U.K. based newspaper named TheLight published an article titled, “Pfizer knew their vaccine would kill”. This article further claims, “Own data show shocking number of fatalities and side effects now officially associated with covid shots”.

The screenshot of the article has been shared on Instagram and Facebook by social media users.

Fact Check

What are Pfizer documents?

Pfizer documents were made public by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after the Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency (PHMPT) filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to gain access of the data used to approve Pfizer covid vaccine.

In January 2022, the FDA was asked to disclose ‘remaining documents at a rate of 55,000 pages every 30 days, with the first production being due on or before March 1, 2022, until production is complete’ as written on page number three in the official order

The documents made available by PHMPT to the public are available here.

Does the Pfizer document reveal dangers associated with the Covid vaccine?

No official evidence confirms that the Pfizer documents reveal dangers associated with the Covid vaccine.

The Pfizer document is a safety surveillance report that contains information on the adverse events of special interest. These events are essential for monitoring reasons including the association with Pfizer covid vaccines. This document recorded all adverse events regardless of whether the vaccine-induced them. The Healthy Indian Project (THIP Media) has discussed that Pfizer’s safety document does not confirm the Covid vaccine is unsafe in detail here.

In context with the risk of heart complications, there is published evidence that shows the cases of myocarditis have increased after covid vaccination. However, the number of cases is less. The evidence itself suggests to consider potential risks in comparison to the benefits of the covid vaccine. THIP Media has explained the relation between myocarditis and covid vaccine in detail here.

TheLight newspaper article also claimed that the Pfizer safety document revealed more than 1223 fatal cases after the covid vaccine. However, the report does not confirm the cause of death. These fatal cases may include people with other illnesses that might have aggravated the condition.

Another claim TheLight newspaper discusses is the Pfizer vaccine has only 12% efficiency. THIP Media has already discussed this misinformation in detail here. The available evidence only suggests that the Pfizer vaccine has 95% efficiency. It seems the claim of 12% might have come from the personal opinion shared on a Substack article published by Sonia Elijah who is an independent British journalist for Trial Site News. It is not clear within the Substack article whether the participants underwent a PCR test. A document on clinical trial protocols released by Pfizer clearly states that the diagnosis can be made only using a PCR test. The available evidence only suggests that covid vaccines have a great efficacy against covid vaccines.

Moreover, the article also claimed to avoid covid vaccines during pregnancy. However, this claim is also proven incorrect by THIP Media here. The CDC website recommends the covid vaccine for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

In conclusion, the available evidence disapproves all the claims discussed in the TheLight newspaper article until proven otherwise.
