Some entertainment/satirical social media pages and individual social media users have published a post reporting the Canadian Prime Minister is encouraging people to socially boycott unvaccinated people. We fact-checked and found the claim to be False.
An entertainment Facebook page named Barrington Rants and Confessions published a screenshot of a post that shows Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is telling people to stop talking to unvaccinated people. The post reads, in part, “Please do your part to make this stop: if you have family or friends that still haven’t been vaccinated, do not allow them to family dinners, do not speak to them on the phone, do not reply to their texts. You need to do everything you can to make life difficult for them until they comply.”
Is Justin Trudeau telling people to stop talking to unvaccinated people?
No. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau never shared such a post on social media websites. Moreover, his official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts show no evidence of a post that encourages Canadians to stop talking to unvaccinated people. His official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts are available here, here, and here.
The social media post is altered and manipulated to spread fake information.
