The Claim

An Instagram post claims that drinking a juice made from a mix of guava, banyan, peepal, mint, coriander, curry leaves, spinach, turmeric, ginger, amla, and pineapple for three days, whether hungry or thirsty, can completely remove lipomas in a matter of days.

Fact Check

Can a homemade juice remove Lipomas in just three days?

No, there is no scientific evidence that suggests drinking a juice made from these ingredients will cure or reduce lipomas in just three days.

Lipomas are benign (non-cancerous) growths of fatty tissue under the skin. While the ingredients listed in the claim, such as turmeric, ginger, and amla, are known for their general health benefits, there is no clinical proof that they can specifically target and dissolve lipomas.

Lipomas are not caused by toxins or excess fat that can be “flushed out” by drinking juices. They develop when fatty tissue cells grow abnormally and form a lump beneath the skin. Although some ingredients in the juice have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, they don’t have the ability to break down fatty tissue or shrink lipomas.

Can Turmeric and Ginger help with Lipomas?

Not directly. While turmeric (curcumin) and ginger are well-known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, there is no clinical evidence suggesting they can specifically target or reduce lipomas.

Turmeric is often praised for its ability to reduce inflammation in the body, which can benefit conditions like arthritis or general discomfort. Ginger has similar anti-inflammatory properties and may help with digestion. However, these ingredients primarily work by promoting general health and alleviating minor ailments rather than directly influencing the formation or reduction of lipomas.

Do the other ingredients have any effect on Lipomas?

No, there’s no proof. Many of the other ingredients in the juice, like guava, banyan, peepal, coriander, and curry leaves, are packed with vitamins and minerals that can support your overall health. For example, guava is rich in Vitamin C, and curry leaves have antioxidants. However, none of these ingredients have been scientifically proven to shrink or remove lipomas.

While spinach (palak) and amla (Indian gooseberry) offer important nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and fibre, they don’t have the ability to dissolve fatty tissue or alter the growth of a lipoma. Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme known for its potential digestive benefits, but once again, it does not have any known effect on lipomas.

Can diet and lifestyle influence the growth of Lipomas?

Yes, but not in the way this claim suggests. While there is no specific diet proven to prevent or reduce lipomas, maintaining a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle can play a role in managing overall health. Lipomas are typically genetically inherited, and while there may be a small link between obesity and the development of fatty growths, lifestyle changes like a healthy diet and exercise are unlikely to cure or remove existing lipomas.

In some rare cases, doctors may recommend losing weight to reduce the risk of developing additional lipomas, but this is different from using a specific juice or remedy to remove them.

Dr Ekansh Shekhar, Dermatologist

We chatted with Dr Ekansh Shekhar, a skin specialist, beauty expert, hair doctor, and aesthetic medicine advisor in Lucknow, about trying home remedies for lipomas and cysts. He says, “Thinking a simple home mix can fix lipomas is confusing and dangerous. There’s zero science proving these ingredients work for these problems. Lipomas are tricky growths that usually need a doctor’s close look. Sticking with untested remedies might hold off a real diagnosis, irritate your skin, or cause bad side effects. Never swap them for advice from a trained doctor.”

Dr Manan Arora, BAMS

We also talked to Dr Manan Arora, who holds a BAMS degree and focuses on long-term health issues and mental well-being in New Delhi, to hear his Ayurvedic take on home remedies for lipomas and cysts. He explains, “Sure, Ayurveda values some natural ingredients for their helpful properties, but they’re not real cures for lipomas. These treatments work to bring your body’s energies into balance and might ease things a little, but counting on them alone won’t likely make lipomas go away. Always chat with a qualified Ayurvedic doctor for advice that’s right for you, and turn to modern medicine when it’s called for.”

What are the proven treatments for Lipomas?

Surgical removal is the most effective treatment. If a lipoma is causing discomfort or cosmetic concerns, the most common and effective treatment is surgical removal. This involves a minor procedure where the lipoma is excised from under the skin. For smaller lipomas, less invasive methods like liposuction may be used.

There is also a procedure called steroid injection, which can reduce the size of a lipoma in some cases, but it does not remove it entirely. Non-surgical methods like these are typically considered when surgery isn’t a viable option, but they do not guarantee the lipoma will be gone for good.

Should you rely on this juice to cure Lipomas?

In conclusion, while the ingredients in this homemade juice may offer various health benefits, such as boosting immunity, improving digestion, and supporting overall wellness, there is no scientific basis for the claim that it can remove lipomas in just three days. Lipomas are benign fatty growths that cannot be dissolved by drinking juice, no matter how nutritious the ingredients may be.

If you have a lipoma that is causing discomfort or concerns, the best course of action is to consult a healthcare professional. They can guide you on safe and effective treatment options, which may include surgical removal, steroid injections, or simply monitoring the lipoma for changes over time.

Always remember, when it comes to health claims, it’s important to look beyond viral remedies and focus on scientifically-backed information.
